November 2008: AFPLATS HEADGEAR FOR SHAFT SINKERS
The headgear for Afplats Leeukop shaft in Marikana (North West) requires fabrication and erection of 1300 tons of structural steel.
November 2008: DOUGLAS-MIDDELBURG OPTIMISATION PROJECT (DMO) FOR CONCOR
Project managed by Petrus Boshoff, this Brownfield’s thermal coal optimization project in the Witbank area of Mpumalanga requires fabrication of approx 3200 tons of fabricated steel for the development of its new infrastructure. Despite complex changes, 200 tons of material is ready for procurement. Working closely with Petrus and Murray & Roberts and MEI, Charles Fryer is project managing the fabrication of the coal conveyors and the preparation plant, requiring 2500 tons of structural steel. At present, Genrec detailers are working on the drawings of 2 conveyors weighing approx 260 tons each.
November 2008: GENREC EXPANSION
Genrec is busy expanding their premises up to 55000m2 of undercover workshops and 19500m2 of open area.

GENREC SIGNS MEDUPI CONTRACT
Genrec Engineering has signed a contract with Murray & Roberts MEI to fabricate structural steel for the Medupi Power Station. This entails the supply of 105 000 tons of fabricated steel for the six boiler structures, coal and ash conveyors and auxiliary bay structures.
